ℹ️ Introduction
This article explains how to use the NHSE FIT Pilot dashboard in Ardens Manager to monitor FIT activity and identify potential gaps in safety-netting processes. By the end of this article, you will understand how to review the dashboard reports, investigate the data and identify areas that may need further support.
Background
The NHSE FIT Safety Netting Pilot supports a structured approach to recording FIT kit provision, safety-netting advice and follow-up activity.
The dashboard brings together coded activity from participating practices, giving commissioners and Cancer Alliance teams an overview of recorded activity and potential gaps in the process.
How Ardens Can Help
The NHSE FIT Pilot dashboard provides reports to help you:
Monitor recorded FIT activity and results
Review safety-netting and written information recorded alongside FIT kit provision
Identify patients who may require follow-up or further investigation
Compare activity across participating practices and explore trends
Investigate potential gaps in recorded activity to help target support
For guidance on the clinical resources and coding, access the FIT Safety Netting Pilot support article.
📍 Access the Dashboard
Login to Ardens Manager
Select Contracts from the left-hand panel
Select FIT Safety Netting Pilot
Select the Cancer tab

🔃Review FIT Activity
The dashboard separates the reports into Activity and Work to do.
Activity
The Clinical Activity reports show the FIT-related activity recorded by participating practices.
Reports include:
FIT kits chased within the last year
FIT results recorded within the last month or last year
FIT results not received within the expected period following a FIT test, with different categories of follow-up activity
FIT kit provision
FIT kit provision alongside recorded safety-netting advice and written information
Select View alongside a report to explore the figures in more detail.

ℹ️Access the Breakdown Report support article for guidance on the various breakdown functions.
Use these reports to monitor recorded activity across the pilot and compare activity between practices using the benchmark table.

ℹ️Access the Benchmark Organisations support article for guidance on comparing performance across organisations.
Work to do
The Work to do reports help identify patients who may need further follow-up or whose records may need reviewing.
These include reports relating to:
Follow-up where a FIT kit was provided and safety-netting advice and written information were recorded, but no result has been received within the specified period.
Recording safety-netting advice, written information and/or FIT kit provision where the required information may not have been recorded.
FIT kit provision where associated safety-netting information may still need to be documented.
Select View to investigate the patients contributing to a report and identify whether further action or support may be needed.

⚠️ Please note: These reports identify patients based on the information recorded in their clinical records. A patient appearing on a Work to do report does not necessarily mean that clinical action has not taken place. Further investigation may be needed to establish whether action is outstanding or whether information has not been recorded as expected.
❓FAQs
Why can't I see the NHSE FIT Pilot dashboard?
Check that your organisation has been set up for the pilot and that you are accessing the correct organisation or group. If the dashboard is still unavailable, contact Ardens Support.
Why are some practices missing from the dashboard?
Practices may still be completing the onboarding process or may not have accepted the contract invitation. Check the group's membership and contract information to review their status.
Why might a practice have low recorded activity?
The dashboard reflects the clinical information and codes recorded in participating practices. Differences may relate to variation in activity, recording practices or the data available. Review the report rules and breakdowns, alongside local context, before drawing conclusions.
Can the dashboard replace manual Excel submissions?
The dashboard is intended to support reporting for participating practices. However, during the pilot, manual submissions may still be required where practice data is not available in Ardens Manager. Follow the latest instructions from NHS England regarding submission requirements and timings.
