ℹ️ Introduction
Ardens Clinical resources are delivered to Medicus using Resource Sharing.
Once your organisation has subscribed to the shared Ardens resource package, the available resources are automatically made available within Medicus. Depending on your subscription, this may include:
Consultation templates
Clinical searches (coming soon)
Other Ardens resources as they become available
This article explains how to subscribe to an Ardens resource package and verify that the resources have been successfully added to your organisation.
Note: If you are setting up Ardens Manager, please refer to the separate Clinical System Setup Ardens Manager article.
⬅️ Before You Start
Before subscribing to an Ardens resource package, ensure that:
Your organisation has an active Ardens subscription.
The appropriate Ardens resource package has been shared with your organisation.
You have the required permissions to manage Resource Sharing within Medicus.
If you cannot see the Ardens package, please contact Ardens Support (support@ardens.org.uk).
👥 Subscribe to the Ardens Package
Once the package has been shared:
Open Modules > Resource Sharing > Subscribed Resources.
Select Browse Package.
Locate the Ardens resource package.
Review the package details.
Select Subscribe.
Once subscribed, the package will move into your subscribed packages and the included resources will become available within your organisation.

Note: This only needs to be completed once for your organisation.
✅ Verify Your Resources
After subscribing, you can confirm that the resources have been made available.
The location will depend on the resource type. For example:
Consultation Templates can be viewed under Modules > Consultations > Consultation Templates > Subscribed Templates.
Clinical Searches are not yet available but when they are launched they will be available within the appropriate search area of Medicus.
If your organisation subscribes to content from multiple publishers, you can use the Authoring Organisation filter where available to locate Ardens resources.
🔄️ Keeping Your Resources Up to Date
Ardens resources are maintained centrally.
Once your organisation has subscribed to the resource package:
Updates are delivered automatically.
New versions become available without any manual installation.
There is no need to resubscribe each time content is updated.

I can't see the Ardens package
Confirm that your organisation has been provisioned with an Ardens subscription. If the package is still unavailable, please contact Ardens Support.
I've subscribed to the package but can't find the resources
Resources are made available within the relevant area of Medicus depending on their type. Refer to the relevant feature article for guidance on accessing specific resources, such as consultation templates or clinical searches.
Can we edit Ardens resources?
Ardens resources supplied through Resource Sharing are managed centrally by Ardens. Availability of editing depends on the resource type, but publisher-managed content is maintained by Ardens to ensure consistency and automatic updates.
Do we need to subscribe again when updates are released?
No. Once your organisation has subscribed to the package, future updates are delivered automatically through Resource Sharing.
