ARDENS CLINICAL UPDATES

💉 Seasonal Flu & COVID-19 Vaccinations

We hope everyone is now as settled as possible with their autumn/winter vaccination clinics, particularly those who started vaccinating last week.

EMIS Web

We appreciate the additional pressure caused by changes to templates and protocols this year and apologise that our updated resources have been available later than usual. Unfortunately this has been out of our control largely due to the release of the EMIS Web MKB238 update, which we understand some practices have still not received.

COVID-19 Vaccine Template & Protocol: The MKB update changed how additional COVID-19 vaccination data was recorded in EMIS Web, with information now captured as qualifiers against the administration code. This reflects data requirements previously captured through Pinnacle during the COVID outbreak and may indicate how additional vaccination data will be recorded in EMIS Web in future. As further MKB updates are released, we will continue to update our resources as quickly and safely as possible.

Seasonal Influenza GPES Searches: We have recently updated the EMIS GPES folder ‘5.39 Contracts – ES+VI CQRS 2026–27 (Ardens v1.9)’ to include adult and child Seasonal Influenza 2026–27 reports. These show patients expected in the monthly extract and highlight vaccinated patients not currently predicted to be included, allowing practices to review eligibility before extraction.

SystmOne

Seasonal Influenza GPES Searches: Following the latest TPP release, we are updating the equivalent Ardens SystmOne GPES content for Seasonal Influenza 2026–27. This will provide SystmOne practices with the equivalent payment and data-quality reporting and is expected to be published within the next few days.

Feedback

We have received a number of questions and suggestions from practices following the first vaccination clinics of the season, including around vaccination recording, vaccinations given elsewhere, GMS and non-GMS activity, and activity and payment reporting.

We are actively reviewing this feedback and will issue a further update later this week, bringing together the key questions raised by practices and any further changes to Ardens resources. If you have any further feedback, please email support@ardens.org.uk.

ARDENS MANAGER UPDATES

📍 INT Dashboards

We’ve developed an Ardens Manager dashboard to support Integrated Neighbourhood Teams (INTs) deliver care across their population.

Using agreed clinical criteria, patients can be identified and marked for targeted proactive care or case management. These patients can then be brought together and monitored through a dedicated INT Dashboard with specific focus on 8 clinical areas.  This gives teams a practical way to:

Identify & prioritise: Risk stratify to target those most in need.
Deliver & record: Using templates on EMIS, SystmOne & Medicus.
Evaluate & reassess: Benchmark and spot inequalities.

The model can be adapted to different local priorities and INT use cases, providing teams with a shared view of their population and a clearer way to turn population need into action. The INT dashboard is included in Ardens Manager National subscriptions. If you aren't yet subscribing, please contact us for more information or a free trial.

Next steps:

  1. Login and accept invitation to join dashboard

  2. Once reviewed, contact support@ardens.org.uk if you wish to setup a tailored INT dashboard based on these national indicators.

EVENTS

💬Join us at Best Practice Birmingham | L30

Join us at Best Practice Birmingham on Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th October at the NEC. Visit the Ardens team on Stand L30 to talk to the team, see what's new, and get a preview of exciting developments coming soon.

Be among the first to see the new Patient Messaging functionality on Ardens Manager

Join one of our drop-in sessions on Stand L30 for an early demonstration of the new Patient Messaging functionality coming to Ardens Manager in November 2026.

Patient Messaging is designed to help turn identified patient need into action without relying on separate exports, spreadsheets and messaging workflows.

From Ardens Manager, organisations will be able to identify patients requiring action and communicate with them using channels including the NHS App, SMS and email. The functionality will support patient recalls and invitations, individual messaging and wider cohort outreach, alongside surveys and questionnaires delivered through NHS Notify.

We’ll be sharing further information with Ardens users shortly, including details of our Patient Messaging webinar and how to register your interest.

Space at the Best Practice demonstrations is limited, so please reserve a place using the links below.

ARDENS MANAGER UPDATES

🔄️Companion Mode

Open a patient in your clinical system and automatically open the same patient in Ardens Manager with Companion Mode, giving you immediate access to the information available for that patient without needing to search for them again.

From the patient view, users can see which Ardens service and contract reports the patient is included in, helping identify outstanding activity, opportunities for intervention and areas where action may be required.

🗺️Map boundaries

Users can now add geographic boundary overlays to the map view, including national regions, ICBs, PCNs and GP practice catchment areas. These overlays provide visual context when analysing patient populations, helping practices and commissioners better understand patient distribution across geographic areas and identify patients who fall within or outside expected boundaries.

FEEDBACK

⚡Introducing Ardens Power Users

We're launching a new Power User programme for Ardens Clinical and Ardens Manager, and we would love for you to be a part of it. Power Users are practices and individuals who are getting the most out of Ardens, and are willing to share their experience to help shape future developments.

What's involved?

  • Join quarterly meetings with the Ardens team to share feedback and hear about upcoming developments

  • Access early previews of new features and product changes

  • Contribute to case studies, webinars and best practice content

  • Benefit from a direct line to the Ardens product and training teams

Could you be an Ardens Power User?

We are looking for practices that actively use Ardens Clinical templates, searches and workflows, or have embedded Ardens Manager into their practice routines, with multiple team members engaged and clear outcomes being achieved.

If you think this could be you, email accounts@ardens.org.uk or speak to your Regional Account Manager.
